Morris & Berger, an executive search firm devoted to placing senior-level leaders in the nonprofit sector, officially opened its new office building in downtown Pasadena.  The building neighbors Pasadena City Hall, the Los Angeles County Courthouse, and All Saints Church.  Built in 1920 as a family home, and formerly known as Hutch’s BBQ, the unofficial landmark sat empty since 2013 when the restaurant shut its doors.  Though the building was ineligible for listing in the National Register or designation as a local landmark, the new owners have ensured the protection and preservation of the property.  Complete renovations for the office were finished in early 2022.

In a statement on the completion of the firm’s new headquarters, owner and partner Karin Stellar said:

“Although our nonprofit clients are geographically dispersed, our employees live in the greater Pasadena community.  We are excited to return to Pasadena where Morris & Berger was originally headquartered and where we have worked with many nonprofit organizations.  For the past few years, we have been restoring this building back to its former beauty providing an exceptional, state-of-the-art work environment.”
